Teachers Supporting Teachers is coming back once again for our annual virtual summer retreat on August 4 & 5, bringing educators together for two days of collaboration, innovation, and exploration around AI in education.

Earn 20 NYSED CTLE credits and 2 CEU credits through interactive workshops and educator-led learning labs. Participants will explore how AI can support everyday teaching tasks, enhance Project-Based Learning, and help educators create customized AI tools for their classrooms.

Educators will also learn from fellow teachers sharing creative classroom practices and innovative ideas from their schools and learning communities. Whether you are just beginning your AI journey or already experimenting with tools such as Google Gems or Custom GPTs, this retreat will provide practical strategies and classroom-ready resources for navigating the evolving AI frontier in education.

Retreat Agenda

Day 1: August 4, 2026

Workshop 1:

10:00 am - 11:45 am: AI for Everyday Teaching Tasks

Explore how AI can support everyday teaching tasks through effective prompt writing and practical classroom applications. This session will examine both the benefits and limitations of AI, including ethical concerns and challenges educators should consider when using these tools in schools.

Educator Lunch & Learn

12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Join fellow K–12 educators for an informal Lunch & Learn focused on innovative teaching practices and real classroom experiences with AI. During this session, educators will share how they are using AI tools to support instruction, enhance student engagement, streamline classroom workflows, and design meaningful learning experiences. Participants will also hear about other creative projects and emerging practices happening across K–12 classrooms.

This session is designed to spark ideas, encourage collaboration, and provide practical inspiration from educators actively experimenting with new approaches in their schools and classrooms.

Workshop 2:

1:30 pm - 3:00 pm: AI for Everyday Teaching Tasks

How do we prepare students for a world where AI is everywhere? By building projects that matter. This workshop focuses on using AI to scaffold Project-Based Learning (PBL). We’ll explore how to use AI to brainstorm authentic community problems and generate project milestones.

*Note: Participants will need to complete asynchronous assignments associated with each workshop to earn CTLE/CEU Credits

Day 2: August 5, 2026

Learning Lab

10:00 am - 3:00 pm: AI for Everyday Teaching Tasks

This hands-on learning lab is designed to help educators move beyond simply using AI tools and begin designing customized AI supports for their own teaching practice. Participants will choose between two differentiated learning pathways:

Beginner Builder Track & Advanced Agent Design Track

Both pathways emphasize practical classroom applications, ethical AI implementation, and designing AI systems that support, rather than replace, educator expertise.

*Note: Participants will need to complete asynchronous assignments associated with each workshop to earn CTLE/CEU Credits
